More Severe Storms Possible Monday

Skies turned dark and the rain came down in torrents as severe storms rumbled across eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
    
The storms sparked numerous severe thunderstorm warnings and some tornado warnings as they advanced from south to north Sunday, though there were no confirmed touchdowns.
    

WEB FORECAST: Flash Flood Watch with More Rain on the Way

A tornado watch was in effect until 9 p.m. Sunday for central and southern Minnesota. Part of western Wisconsin was also included.

Strong storms developed bringing heavy rain and strong winds to parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Sunday.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the Twin Cities area through Monday evening.

National Safe Boating Week Begins

As the ice comes off more Minnesota lakes, safety officials are highlighting Saturday's start to National Safe Boating Week.
    
The St. Paul District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the best thing a person can do to stay safe on the water is to wear a life vest or personal flotation device.
    

Health Officials: Hepatitis C Test Needed for MN Baby Boomers

Attention baby boomers - have you been tested for hepatitis C lately?

The Minnesota Department of Health is reminding people born from 1945 through 1965 to be tested for hepatitis C. The reminder comes for national hepatitis awareness month.

Currently, about 39,000 people statewide are living with the virus.

Hennepin Co. Voting to Align Benefits With Freedom to Marry Bill

The Hennepin County Board of commissioners will vote to direct staff to align its policies, procedures, and employee benefit coverage to match the Freedom to Marry Bill on Tuesday.

On August 1, Hennepin County staff will be prepared to both process marriage applications for LGBT couples and extend benefit coverage to any married county employee.

St. Paul Saints Pitcher Looks Good at Home Opener

St. Paul Saints pitcher Mark Hamburger was impressive Thursday night in the Saints home opener.

He gave up seven runs and had eight strikeouts in seven innings. Mark is a Mounds View graduate and former major leaguer.

The Saints took a two to nothing lead in the first two innings but lost in ten innings six to four.

Minn. Students to Square Off in Robotics Tourney

Teams from across Minnesota will put their robots through the paces Saturday at the Minnesota State High School League's second annual State Robotics Tournament.
